We truly can’t recommend it enough….

What a fantastic holiday we have just had at Village Farm Getaway – we truly couldn’t recomend it enough. My husband and I, and our 2 children aged 3 and 6, spent a full week at Barleylease during the Easter holidays.

As soon as we arrived, we felt completely at home on the farm being welcomed by Tim and Audrey (who are such a genuinely lovely and kind couple) and then later Paul and everyone else who works on the farm – everyone was so welcoming.

The canvas cottage was just perfect and none of wanted to leave at the end of our holiday. Audrey has really thought of absolutely everything in the cottage, we were truly spoilt; from a heated blanket in the bed, books and games for the children (Dobble is a family favourite!), a fully equipped kitchen, marshmallows waiting to be toasted on the fire pit, a bucket to collect fresh eggs each day (which the children loved!) fresh flowers and delicious home made rock cakes for us – not to mention a toasty arrival into the cottage as Audrey had kindly pre lit the fantastic log burner for us. The hot tub was brilliant, too, and very much enjoyed by us all. The views are incredible and, even on a cooler day, we were so warm in the hot tub and then toasty in the canvas cottage with the log burner on.

Tim and Paul are so accommodating, knowledgable and kind, too. Tim showed us around the farm and explained how everything works – nothing was too much trouble. We were even lucky enough to see a calf being born, too, thanks Paul!

We had a couple of days out from the cottage, too, as there are some great places to visit close by with children (including the National Space Center, which is brilliant!).

It was a perfect break, so relaxing and peaceful. The children had so much freedom and fun around the cottage and went on so many little adventures.

We are going back next year, we pretty much decided that on day 1!
Thank you Tim, Audrey, Paul and everyone else on the farm – you have created a very special place : )
